Chemical Tank Explosion at Longview Paper Mill Leaves 1 Dead, 9 Missing
A huge chemical storage tank exploded and collapsed in a paper mill located in Longview, Washington, on Tuesday. This accident led to the leak of millions of liters of white liquor, a highly corrosive chemical that is used for processing wood. So far, one employee has been confirmed dead while nine are reported to be missing and cannot be found alive. There are also nine people who have gotten injured during this disaster. Search operation has stopped for now to ensure the stability of the other parts of the structure which still hold a huge volume of the hazardous chemical. However, there is currently no danger to the community.
